Everything you need to know about drying, protecting, and storing your 3D printing filament.
The HD100 is designed for a wide range of 3D printing filaments, including PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, PA (Nylon), PC, and various fiber-reinforced filaments. Since different materials have different drying requirements, we recommend following the drying temperature and time recommended by the filament manufacturer.
Many 3D printing filaments can absorb moisture from the air. When filament becomes damp, it may cause problems such as stringing, popping or bubbling during extrusion, rough surfaces, inconsistent extrusion, and poor layer adhesion. Proper drying helps reduce moisture and can improve printing consistency and overall print quality.
The HD100 combines controlled heating, circulating hot air, and moisture extraction to create a more consistent drying environment. Unlike a simple storage box, it actively heats and circulates air around the filament while helping remove moisture from inside the chamber. The built-in display also makes it easy to monitor and adjust drying parameters.
Yes. The HD100 can be used as a filament drying and feeding solution while printing. Place the filament inside the dryer and feed the filament directly to your 3D printer through the designated filament outlet. Please follow the product manual for proper setup and operation.
The HD100 features an NTC temperature control system designed to maintain a stable drying temperature. However, different filament materials have different temperature requirements. We recommend using the drying temperature and time specified by the filament manufacturer and avoiding unnecessarily high temperatures or excessive drying times.
If excessive moisture is the main cause of the printing problem, properly drying the filament can often help reduce issues such as stringing, popping, and bubbling during extrusion. However, print quality can also be affected by nozzle temperature, printing speed, retraction settings, nozzle condition, and other printer parameters. Drying the filament cannot eliminate every possible printing issue.
Yes. The HD100 can help maintain a lower-humidity environment around your filament and reduce moisture reabsorption during storage. For long-term storage, we still recommend using sealed bags or airtight containers together with desiccant for additional moisture protection.
